A Fort Lauderdale-based energy-saving light system provider, a Plantation-based flooding risk assessor and a Doral-based hair-care product direct sales company head a long list of South Florida winners of the 2016 American Business Awards.
Created in 2002, the “Stevie Awards” has become one of the most recognized award competitions for innovation in business. The American Business Awards, composed of 14 categories, are among six competitions in the U.S., Germany and the Asia-Pacific region. The American Business Awards are open to all organizations operating in the U.S. The awards are nicknamed “Stevie” for the Greek word meaning “crowned.”
According to the organization’s website, judging for each award program is conducted by more than 200 executives. Winners are selected by scoring, and the number of winners per category are not limited. This year’s contest drew more than 3,400 nominations, organizers said.
This year’s American Business Awards winners, announced this month, will be honored at a ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on June 20.
Top winners in the South Florida region include Future Energy Solutions, a Fort Lauderdale company that retrofits outdoor and large-scale indoor lighting systems for no upfront cost, often saving companies between 50 percent and 75 percent off their energy bills and maintenance budgets.
