Future Energy Solutions Overseeing Europe’s Largest LED Rollout for Q-Park
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – (September 04, 2018)
The leading energy performance solutions provider, Future Energy Solutions (FES) has been awarded a contract to supply, install and maintain light emitting diode (LED) lighting technology for Q-Park, one of Europe’s leading parking providers.
Thought to be the largest individual project of its kind in Europe, FES will roll out the installation across seven countries and be completed by December 2019. FES will provide a turnkey solution for Q-Park that incorporates the full range of lighting solution elements – from survey and design, to installation, commissioning and maintenance.
According to FES Chief Operating Officer Simon Conway, the project will encompass some 100,000 LEDs installed at more than 200 sites, with the work occurring simultaneously across the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, and Denmark.
“Q-Park insists on going beyond minimum European lighting standards to ensure the most welcoming and safest environment for its customers,” Conway noted. “To ensure the highest standards are maintained, we thoroughly selected leading international LED manufacturers to deliver the best, most efficient lighting solutions, and are using localized installation and maintenance providers in each of the seven countries.”
The European division of FES, which is based in the United Kingdom and led by Commercial Director Marcus Brodin, will oversee the creation of a custom lighting solution for each facility. In addition to the cost-saving benefits LED lighting offers, Q-Park will be able to lower its carbon footprint even further through the installation of wireless lighting controls, Conway added.
“Our research shows LEDs can reduce lighting bills by up to 75 percent,” Conway said. “Plus, LEDs are free of mercury and other chemicals that can harm the environment, as well as being recyclable. Bottom line – they truly complement Q-Park’s well-defined Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.”
Peter Mertens, Corporate Manager Real Estate at Q-Park, explained, “Optimizing our installed base in those parking facilities where energy efficiency can be improved through LED lighting, brings multiple advantages, such as an improved lighting experience, energy savings as well as carbon footprint and maintenance cost reductions. The currently available LED products offer us these benefits, which is why we decided to transform the light systems in over 200 of our parking facilities across the aforementioned seven countries. Our objective is to achieve a minimum 40 percent reduction in our addressable energy load on lighting across our parking facilities.”
